The VRC7004HD is an HD-SDI compliant, four channel, single-lane PCIe DVR add-in card. It features two S7100 software configurable processors, and can capture four high definition HD-SDI streams and compress them using the H.264 Advanced Video Codec (AVC) High Profile encoder to produce the surveillance industry's best video quality.
The VRC7004HD is also compatible with the company's H.264 Scalable Video Codec (SVC) and can generate encoded streams with up to nine scalable layers. The VRC7004HD features two eAIM ports for high-speed connectivity with other Exar PCIe add-in cards. Using eAIM, cards installed within a host system can communicate, passing data at high speed between them without host processor intervention. In this way, host requirements are reduced and system costs are minimized.
The VRC7004HD features a standard Application Programming Interface (API), ensuring plug-and-play compatibility with existing installations and rapid porting of third-party applications. The VRC7004HD is available as production-ready OEM units for volume production, or as either Evaluation (EVK) or Full Reference Design (RDK) Kits. Both kits contain a complete software load for the card, a sample host application, and source code for all included software (the Exar Intelligent Encoder and CODEC plug-ins are supplied as object code).
The VRC7004HD board includes the following:
